Fire Sprinklers
Because of the negligently “maintained” “landscape” we mounted sprinklers facing outward on two sides of our lot. We hope it’s enough.

For those who are familiar with the fire danger of Sumac, here is a photo of just one of the many specimens. They have a high oil content which makes them dangerous when they burn.
Fire hazard and storm water violation, and just plain lazy.
We have repeatedly asked the City of Santee to enforce the code regarding fuel modification zones e.g. landscape, irrigation, and brush clearing. It was last on the City Council agenda April 22, 2020.
The Sky Ranch HOA sued Lennar Homes in 2017. While the HOA notified homeowners of the lawsuit, presumably a legal requirement, the HOA has not notified the homeowners that the lawsuit was settled six months ago, nor have they given homeowners the details of the settlement.

Because people from NorthStar and Graves Avenue are shuttle parking and storing vehicles on Calico and Mirador, there has been renewed interest, so I’m reposting this information. The Sheriff can enforce infractions, such as parking violations, only on property controlled by the City. Attached (pdf) is the resolution and map showing the portions of the streets that the City controls. That includes all of Calico, and the west end of Mirador. The Sheriff’s department is confused and says they will verify this information.

They are destroying the landscape through neglect. The water has not run for nearly a year and now “sprays” a few inches. They aren’t even maintaining the landscape per fire code in this area.
This message was sent to Sky Ranch for Northstar. Sky Ranch residents reportedly are using the trash dumpster at Northstar. On the other hand, Northstar residents are storing their vehicles in Sky Ranch every day.
