Sky Ranch HOA v Lennar Settled

The Sky Ranch HOA sued Lennar Homes in 2017. While the HOA notified homeowners of the lawsuit, presumably a legal requirement, the HOA has not notified the homeowners that the lawsuit was settled six months ago, nor have they given homeowners the details of the settlement.

The HOA sued Lennar for faulty drainage, landscape, and irrigation (complaint pdf).

The HOA settled the lawsuit on December, 16, 2019. (settlement order pdf)

Random Kindness

Yesterday, we were at the Santee Home Depot loading PVC on top of the car, when a man, who finished loading his trailer, walked over and handed me two new bungie cords and said it would make the job easier. Since leaving the Midwest I no longer expected to encounter that kind of random kindness—my mistake.

Vehicle Storage and Shuttle Parking on Calico and Mirador Street

Because people from NorthStar and Graves Avenue are shuttle parking and storing vehicles on Calico and Mirador, there has been renewed interest, so I’m reposting this information. The Sheriff can enforce infractions, such as parking violations, only on property controlled by the City. Attached (pdf) is the resolution and map showing the portions of the streets that the City controls. That includes all of Calico, and the west end of Mirador. The Sheriff’s department is confused and says they will verify this information.

Recently the City enacted further restrictions on RV parking. To minimize the expense of enforcement the City gave their code compliance personnel authority over those violations. Now, we seem to be able to report any of the parking violations online.
